US Senator Bernie Sanders applauded PM Jacinda Ardern saying: "This is what real action to stop gun violence looks like."This is what real action to stop gun violence looks like," he posted on Twitter. "We must follow New Zealand's lead, take on the NRA and ban the sale and distribution of assault weapons in the United States. She also announced immediate action to prevent stock-piling, and a buyback scheme that could cost anywhere between $100m and $200m.
Passim Rashid, a candidate for the US Senate in the state of Virginia, compared New Zealand's response to a mass shooting to America's with his tweet referencing the 2012 Sandy Hook school massacre.

Brunner Mine Site Visit

This week Totora 3 went on an adventure to the Brunner Mine.

We got to learn about something called coke.  Coke is something they used as a stronger coal that burns faster and makes more flames.

My favorite part was when we got to dress up and take pictures.  I was Aunt Edith,  mother of Mary.

I am grateful for Mrs Mears and Mrs Barber for taking us around the Brunner Mine and teaching us lots of new things.

blog post Friday

sadly last week a man pasted away named Karl he was 85 years old he was a fashion designer  Karl Otto Lagerfeldt was born  in Hamburg, Germany. While the famous fashion designer has never revealed the exact date of his birth, it's believed he was born on September 10, 1933. when Adolf  hittler rose to power in the 1930s, the Dangerfield moved to a rural area of northern Germany, where as Karl would later recount he was cut off from any knowledge about the Nazis   i think it is very sad he died because he was a good designer and lots of people liked his designs
